Quick coffee fix
There’s nothing worse than going for the coffee in the morning only to discover you’re out of filters! In an “emergency” you can use a paper towel cut out to the size of your filter basket. It’s a quick fix but will get the job done!
Quickly peel an orange
To peel an orange quickly and neatly, simply soak the orange in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes and the peel will come right off – including the pith! Try this with other citrus as well.
Removing fat from a stock
To remove the fat from a stock of a roast you’ve just cooked, just add a few ice cubes to the stock and the fat will “stick” right to the ice cubes and you can lift the fat out and throw it away! This will work for any stock.
