Charge Nurse (RN or LPN)

  • Job Description: Our Nurses deliver first-class nursing care for each resident on their assigned unit. Use nursing process to assess acute change in resident's condition. Implement the service plan approaches that are agreed upon at the interdisciplinary care conference. Act as an advocate for each resident's autonomy. Demonstrate respect for each resident's dignity, privacy and confidentiality. Use effective communication with medical staff, service providers, families, peers and supervisors. Supervise, coach and discipline assigned Health Care unit staff to ensure skillful and effective delivery of resident cares. Full- and part-time schedules are available on these shifts: 5:45 am - 2:15 pm (Day Shift) 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm (Evening Shift)
  • Requirements: •Have a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, with specific knowledge in geriatric nursing and restorative care. •Have a genuine interest in working with elders and those with limited self-care abilities. •Have a commitment toward helping each resident maintain the highest degree of function possible. •Patient, tactful & respectful in dealing with all employees, family members and visitors, and residents who have a variety of mental and emotional conditions •Able to concentrate on details with frequent interruptions. •Able to read, spell and do basic math. •Take initiative, identify and utilize problem solving skills and make judgments in determining residents' needs. Capable of independent decision making. •Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and employees. •Dependable in reporting to work on time and as scheduled. •Fluent in written and spoken English •Able to read, spell and perform basic math calculations •Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, pre-employment physical and tuberculosis screen

Certified Nursing Aide - Health Center

  • Job Description: Our CNA's provide the very best care to our residents. Duties include timely feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming and moving residents. CNA's are also responsible for maintaining confidentiality, privacy and residents' rights. Multiple openings available for Afternoon/Evening shift Full- and part-time schedules are available on these shifts: 5:45 am - 2:15 pm (Day Shift) 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm (Evening Shift)
  • Requirements: •Able to make independent decisions when appropriate. •Able to follow instructions accurately •Basic computer skills •Must demonstrate tact, patience, enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition when working with residents. •Must possess a strong customer-service focus •Fluent in written and spoken English •Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, pre-employment physical and tuberculosis screen •High-school diploma or equivalent. If under 18 years of age, must be enrolled in a secondary education program. •Current CNA certification with the State of Iowa.

Floor Care Technician

  • Job Description: Floor Care Techs clean and maintain all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility as directed. Perform preventative maintenance on special floor equipment
  • Requirements: •Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors (tile, carpet and other surfaces) •Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to established procedures •Use and maintain equipment properly and safely •Observe safety precautions at all times and report safety hazards as appropriate •Complete work assignments in a timely manner •Be available to work overtime when needed. •Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Calvin Community values •Able to work independently with minimal supervision •Attention to detail required •Must be able to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative and team-oriented culture •Fluent in written and spoken English •Basic computer skills required •Must possess a strong customer service focus •Must demonstrate tact, patience, enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition when working with other employees, residents and family members •Ability to maintain resident and employee confidentiality consistent with all applicable government regulations including HIPAA. •Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, pre-employment physical and tuberculosis screen

Environmental Aide

  • Job Description: Environmental Aides are key members of the team responsible for keeping all areas of the facility clean, safe and attractive at all times. Environmental Aides are also responsible for reporting any needed repairs or observed deficiencies to the appropriate departments. There are two positions currently available. Hours for these positions are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Periodic weekend work (including both Saturday and Sunday) is required.
  • Requirements: • Minimum of six (6) months' previous experience working in a hospital or health care facility. • Can demonstrate proper use of common housekeeping tools and chemicals • Must be able to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative and team-oriented culture •Fluent in written and spoken English •Must possess a strong customer service focus •Must demonstrate tact, patience, enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition when working with other employees, residents and family members •Ability to maintain resident and employee confidentiality consistent with all applicable government regulations including HIPAA. •Basic computer skills are required •Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, pre-employment physical and tuberculosis screen •Must be at least 18 years of age •High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
